Product Description
The Boker Plus Damascus Gent 2 Pocket Knife is a collector’s item that follows the ancient tradition of Damascus steelsmithing. It is a smaller version of the Gent 1. The forged 67 layer Damascus steel gives the blade an attractive, wavy pattern. Damascus steel was once the subject of legend and mythology. Swords forged of the material were rumored to be able to cut through rifle barrels. Obviously, these claims are exaggerated, but they make clear the incredible respect ancient sword smiths had for the material. The black handle perfectly complements the traditional crafting process. A thumb stud makes it easy to close and open this knife. Limited lifetime warranty. The length of the blade is 2 3/4 inches. and the overall length is 6 1/2 inches. 5.0 out of 5 stars Don’t let this fly under the radar. Get it., November 6, 2013

I’m a big CRKT fan, and while I had interest in getting this knife when it came out, I purchased a few others from their new line that I thought I’d like more. I was wrong to wait.

This knife is gorgeous and has a lot of good things going for it. Here’s a quick breakdown:

Blade: Came razor sharp, including the flat top Veff Serrations. High quality Sandvik steel and the retention has been excellent so far. Medium hollow grind on the blade which comes to a very sharp, almost spear point tip. The serrations aren’t as good as the original Veff’s, but they’ll be way easier to sharpen, so there’s that.

Deploy/lockup: IKBS works great here. No thumbstuds, just the flipper. Liner lock is very thin but lockup is perfectly secure. Zero blade play in any direction, even after a moderate amount of use. Liners run entire length of the knife.

Ergos: Great for me, but my hands are medium to small. The G10 is grippy, and the milled out scales give additional support and are really comfortable. There’s a little bit of decent jimping on the spine, but they really could have extended it further. Bigger hands will need to choke up or use a lanyard.

Clip/carry: Clip is a small downer. Not a low carry at all, so a good amount of the knife will be exposed. Also, the clip is really tight, and I can see the G10 shredding some pockets. Clip is one position only, but it is for tip up carry. Unusual for CRKT.

All in all, I love this knife. Wish I had purchased it earlier. I would put it right up there with the new Ripple as my favorite CRKT offerings this year.
